Design and Display

This phone is unashamedly budget in its look. Its body is made of plastic. The Gionee P5W is neither thin nor overly bulky at 8.9 millimetres and 153 grams respectively. The design is colourful with different shades on offer to suit your taste.
You get a 5-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels here. Given this is an IPS oncell display, you should expect sharp images and enjoyable wide viewing angles.

Camera and Storage

The Gionee P5W does not offer a lot by the way of cameras. Buyers get a combo of 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel selfie shooter. The main shooter has LED flash and autofocus.

You get 1 GB of RAM – a hallmark of budget offerings. The Gionee P5W boots Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system, which is good enough given its price point. It is topped with Immersive UI skin.

The Gionee P5W is backed by a 2,000mAh battery which you will not be able to replace. It offers dual SIM card slots so you can carry separate phone lines for work and personal relationships – this is a dual standby feature.
For connectivity, you get a microUSB 2.0 port, Bluetooth 4.0, 3G WCDMA and Wi-Fi. GPS is also on board for finding your bearings.
